The Factory Makerspace Workshop Series
Thursday, March 26, 2020 - 5:00pm to 6:00pm

We are working on developing a way to deliver workshops that make sense in a virtual way. However, we will not be holding any in-person workshops at this time. Check the link above for updates as we work out the details for any workshops we can offer online.

The UNT Libraries' makerspace, The Factory, promotes the cooperative and creative use of technology. We provide the UNT community including faculty, staff and currently enrolled students with access to equipment, software and training that promotes innovative, cross-disciplinary learning. The Factory will host numerous workshops at one of our locations in Willis Library or Discovery Park this semester to help you get familiar with the great tools available for use.

In this Workshop: Getting Started with Solidworks

Join our knowledge specialist for an in-depth session on learning the functions of SolidWorks. SolidWorks is software that incorporates CAD programs to help with the design of three-dimensional figures. The computer-aided design allows for the creation of some of the most complex and intricate projects in many areas of creative design. Use this software to design a piece for your prototype or to create the project itself and 3D print it. This program also allows you to create 2D drawings that you can automatically update on-the-fly when you change your 3D model.
