The goal of the course is to have students develop and enrich their understanding of hand sewing and the ways they can apply it to their wardrobes to save money and breathe new life into old clothes. By the end of the course, students will be able to:  

• Practice and identify different types of stitches and their applications

• Understand the properties of common garment materials 

• Learn the different potential applications for hand sewing

• Take home a hand-sewn tote bag!
