CMHT Visiting Scholar Dr. Urska Vrabic Brodnjak from the University of Slovenia and Dr. Iva Jestratijevic, Assistant Professor in Merchandising (UNT), will hold a workshop on sustainable packaging. Students will participate in the following activities: 

Redesign Challenge

• Students choose an existing food or cosmetic package and redesign it using sustainable alternatives.
• Focus on reducing material waste, improving recyclability, and enhancing user experience.

Prototyping and Model Creation

• Students create mockups of their designs using paper, bioplastics, 3D printing, or edible films.
• Testing structural integrity and functional aspects of the package.

Smart Features Integration

• Exploring QR codes, interactive labeling, and reusable elements.
• Discussing the role of smart packaging in reducing waste and enhancing consumer engagement.

Students will present their solutions to the group and get feedback from the professors.
