DESCRIPTION:3D Character Series Overview \n\nThroughout this series\, stude
nts will learn how to create\, model\, texture\, rig\, and animate 3D char
acters in Blender. Creating and animating 3D characters allows students to
explore interests and careers in game development\, animation\, design\,
and VFX\, among many others. \n\nThe series consists of three steps: 1) H
ard Surface Modelling\, 2) Painted and Procedural Textures\, and 3) Riggin
g and Animation. To complete the series\, students should attend one sessi
on in each step. Each step has two session dates that students may select
from based on their schedule. Students do not need to attend both dates fo
r each step in order to complete the series. \n\nStudents will be able t
o follow along with a member of the Spark staff using in-space computers.
\n\n \n\nStep 2: Painted and Procedural Textures \n\nLearn how to navigat
e Blender’s node tree in order to use nodes for the creation of procedur
al textures. Students will be able to apply procedural and manually painte
d textures to their humanoid and static meshes created in Step 1. \n\n \n\
nCourse Goals and Objectives \n\nBy the end of this session\, students wil
 l: \n\n- Gain a deeper knowledge of Blender’s texturing tools\, \n\n- Ma
ke both procedural and painted meshes\, and \n\n- Customize the visual ele
ments of their Step 1 meshes for use in Step 3.
