LinkedIn is coming to UNT for an experience designed to help you navigate what work looks like now, and what it means for you.

 

You’ll hear directly from leaders, build practical skills, and get hands-on with tools that can help you stand out. Whether you’re exploring career paths or getting ready to graduate, this experience is designed to help you take your next step with more clarity, confidence, and direction.

 

A half-day, interactive experience designed to help you understand how work is changing and what to do about it. The morning begins with a live conversation on how AI is reshaping careers, followed by a hands-on session where you’ll learn how to turn your experiences into real opportunities using LinkedIn.

 

All attendees will receive a copy of Open to Work: How to Get Ahead in the Age of AI, meet co-author Aneesh Raman, and walk away with practical tools you can start using immediately.

  • 10 - 11 a.m. (open to all) — What’s Actually Changing About Work (and What Isn’t) Hear from UNT President Harrison Keller, Ph.D., LinkedIn’s Chief Economic Opportunity Officer Aneesh Raman, Diego Rubio (Center on Rural Innovation), and guests as they break down how AI is reshaping careers, what skills actually matter right now - and how students can start building momentum before graduation. Moderated by UNT student and former SGA President Alfred Dozier IV.
     
  • 11-11:30 a.m. (open to all) —   Book Signing with Aneesh Raman Aneesh Raman, Chief Economic Opportunity Officer for LinkedIn, will be signing copies of his book Open to Work: How to Get Ahead in the Age of AI. Aneesh works with leaders across sectors to shape the global response to rapid changes in work. Previously, he served as a senior adviser on economic strategy and public affairs for the State of California, led economic impact at Facebook, and worked as both a presidential speechwriter and war correspondent. He is a graduate of Harvard College and a former Fulbright Program Scholar, and serves on the boards of College Futures Foundation and Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project.
     
  • 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. (students only) — Building your Career Toolkit: From Experience to Opportunity A hands-on session designed to help you turn your experiences - whether from class, campus, or internships - into real career momentum. You’ll learn how to:
    • Position your profile to clearly showcase your skills and experiences
    • Build a network by connecting with alumni, professionals, and peers
    • Show up on LinkedIn by sharing insights and engaging in conversations

      Along the way, you’ll apply a simple framework to understand how to use AI effectively: what to automate, where to collaborate with AI, and where your human strengths set you apart. 

      Lunch and Career Starter Kit giveaways will be provided.
