This course allows students to discovery the hand and power tools available through The Spark Makerspace. Safety and proper tools use and selection is a large factor in successfully completing a project. Safety is a priority so knowledge is important. Hand tools are non-powered, which includes pliers, wrenches, screw drivers, hammers, etc. Power tools on the other hand have a power source, most of those available in The Spark are battery operated although some are electric with a power cord. The greatest hazards posed by tools results from misuse and improper handling. In this instruction/training program attention will be given to tool selection, tool use, and proper personal protective equipment that are required to be used when operating the specific tool.
This is required training prior to being able to use the Tools in the Spark.
