Textiles and Fiber Arts tools at the Spark can be used for a number of situations from personal project ideas to improving a presentation for a class or other event. One of our tools is the Cricut a vinyl cutter that can do a wide range of projects. According to the official Cricut website "Cricut® makes smart cutting machines that work with an easy-to-use app to help you design and personalize almost anything — custom cards, unique apparel, everyday items, and so much more". This trainings introduces attendees to Design Space as well as the Cricut machine, and is the required first step to be able to use the technology on your own throughout the semester. In this class we will make a small 3D paper (cardstock) project, while learning the features and options in the software to design your future projects.

Materials will be provided for the training, but future project will require you to provide your own materials. In the session you should:

  • Learn the basics of the Cricut Explore Air and Maker machines
  • Learn to navigate Design Space, Cricut's software for machine use and design
  • Explore the options for ways to use the machine for additional projects and materials
  • Learn the basic safety and best practices for using SPARK resources
  • Go over guidelines and policies for using equipment sand tools

Registration is required. Limited seats available.
