THE BOREN AWARDS: LANGUAGE. CULTURE. PUBLIC SERVICE.

Boren Scholars and Fellows study a wide range of critical languages, including Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, and Swahili. Boren Awards are available to students of all proficiency levels who are committed to enhancing their skills. 

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Undergraduate Students: Study a critical language abroad

Graduate Students:  Conduct research or study a critical language abroad

Program lengths vary:

12 - 52 weeks.

8-11 weeks summer program for undergraduate STEM majors.
