DESCRIPTION:FOLXLÓRICO is a nonprofit\, independent organization whose mis
 sion is to build a safe space while developing an understanding of Méxica
 n folkloric dance through cultural emergence. We want to provide an inclus
 ive experience of reinvented customs and empower young\, marginalized voic
 es. We strive to raise awareness of the cultural\, ethnic\, and educationa
 l significance of Folklórico on and off campus. "Movement for All" is a m
 otto we stand behind because it signifies inclusiveness for gender\, ethni
 city\, sexual orientation\, etc.\n\n \n\nThe Canción Cannibal Cabaret is 
 a Xicana punk rock musical—part concept album\, part radio play. Set in 
 a not-so-distant dystopian future\, La Madre Valiente\, a refugee raised u
 nder the oppressive State\, studies secretly to become the leader of a fem
 inist revolution. Her emissaries\, Las Hijas de la Madre\, roam the land s
 preading her story\, educating others\, and galvanizing allies. Inspired b
 y current issues of social injustice\, this multidisciplinary musical perf
 ormance piece is a refugee\, people of color\, feminist\, and LGBTQ+ call 
 to action.
