Dr. Sarvagya Dwivedi, Photonics Lead and Senior Member of the Technical Staff, Kilby Labs at Texas Instruments will give a seminar titled "Silicon Photonics - Introduction and Applications" to the interested faculty and students at Discovery Park.

Abstract

In this talk, I will give an overview of Silicon Photonics technology and its need in various applications in data communications, sensing, healthcare and quantum computing. The talk will cover two main topics: photonic integrated circuits for a data center transceiver and a solid-state on-chip Lidar. I will also show some past demonstrations and characterization of the components and systems.
