About this Event
Wear Denim on April 24th! In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), jeans and denim are worn as a symbol of solidarity with overcomers of sexual assault. When a woman’s rape was dismissed because she was wearing tight jeans, it was assumed she helped her attacker remove them. People everywhere started wearing denim to show that they stood with her. Denim Day protests against the misconceptions of sexual violence, a notion we continue to this day.
