Bring your laptops! This workshop will focus on AI practice tools that are readily available to all UNT faculty and students. If you create presentations, assignments, papers, grants or social media posts, these tools can be utilized to improve your ability to better motivate, communicate, assess learning and promote impact. At a minimum, these tools can make you more efficient, giving you time for other pursuits, with caveats to be discussed.
The workshop is led by an academic leader in the application of AI, Dr. Mark V. Albert, Department Chair of Information Science, and Sekhar Lanka, a senior AI engineer at Microsoft, who work together to build, research and integrate AI tools in their careers. Participants will work through a series of hands-on activities to integrate AI into most phases of the academic workflow.
By the end of this session, participants will have a personalized toolkit of AI workflows designed to reduce administrative burden, enhance instructional impact and make the process of academic knowledge synthesis and dissemination more enjoyable. Faculty are strongly encouraged to attend with their TAs or advisees.
