Sunday, October 14, 2018 - 5:00pm to 6:30pm

As I Walk Through the Valley unfolds over four decades of music in the southernmost tip of Texas: The Rio Grande Valley. The valley is the often-overlooked river-delta that recently finds itself as a central talking point in the national conversation about our southern border. As I Walk Through the Valley examines the histories and stories of musicians playing in the underground scenes throughout the decades, as told by the people who lived it.

The documentary will be screened by the UNT Media Library during a free event at Dan's Silverleaf.

The director of the film will be in attendance and take part in a Q&A session after the screening. Please visit the film's Facebook page for more information on As I Walk Through The Valley. The event at Dan's Silverleaf is free and open to people of all ages.

The Fall 2018 Doc Spot series is a collaboration between the UNT Media LibraryMusic Library, & Local/Independent music Initiative of Texas (LIMIT) program. The series will focus on Texas music, musicians and musical traditions, including Denton's independent music scene, music from the Rio Grand, and Dallas hip-hop.

Denton Music & Arts Collaborative (DMAC) will be on-site to provide resources (including healthcare information) for local musicians.
