Why you are important to student success at UNT

UNT has a strong commitment to undergraduate education; a quality undergraduate education requires quality instructors! You are a key member of our UNT instructional team! 

A one-day seminar is scheduled for Thursday, January 9 at the Gateway Center to provide new instructors at UNT with access to best practices in teaching and supportive resources. This seminar is sponsored by the Office of the Provost, the Toulouse Graduate School, and the Center for Learning Enhancement, Assessment and Redesign (CLEAR).

This seminar is mandatory for all new TAs and TFs. All new adjunct faculty, tenure track faculty, and lecturers are welcomed and encouraged to attend!

What you will gain from this seminar

The purpose of this one-day seminar is to provide an opportunity for participants to explore effective teaching practices and resources for assisting students.

Program for TES, 8:30 a.m.– 12:30 P.M.

7:45 a.m.- 8:30 a.m. Registration and refreshments: all participants must check in and be in the ballroom by 8:30 a.m.

After registration, please plan to attend the event from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

The day's events include:

  • Presentation on how to facilitate engaged student learning by Brenda McCoy, Chair of Dept. of Community & Professional Programs
  • TA/TF panel: How Do I Build Credibility?
  • Key policies, procedures, and resources that affect your teaching
  • Human Resources benefits overview for benefits-eligible employees
