Gender Fair 8
The 2013 Gender Fair is an educational, provocative, and entertaining event uniting the UNT campus and broader community that will investigate a wide range of social discourses and perceptions about gender in U.S. public culture. The fair will investigate topics ranging from gender & violence and masculinities to feminism through time and unruly bodies & sexualities. Hosted by UNT's Department of Communication Studies, specifically the students in the COMM 4140 Gender & Communication course taught by Dr. Suzanne Enck.
To promote gender awareness and critical dialogue. The Gender Fair will also team up with the Communication Studies honorary, Lambda Pi Eta, to collect items for Denton County Friends of the Family (domestic violence program). Community members are invited to drop off new and gently used items to the Gender Fair to be donated to Denton County Friends of the Family (www.dcfof.org).
The event is free & open to the public!
