Desire Lines

The Communication Studies Black Box Theater performance, "Desire Lines,"
a performance resulting from a two month long experiment by a cast of ten about the effects that material space has on our lives, and how we affect it right back.

"A Desire Line is a path that pedestrians or vehicles take informally rather than taking a sidewalk or set route (for example, a well-worn ribbon of dirt cutting across a patch of grass, or a path in the snow).

"A community is a group of people with enough knowledge of a history of a shared space to complain about what's changed. No matter the size of a space (classroom, park, University, town, state, nation, world), if desire lines cross, the space becomes part of a community entity, whether the people in the space converse directly or indirectly."
